Resumen
According to World Health Organization, breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer subtype in the world. Among the molecular subtypes of the disease, the triple negative breast cancer is one of them, and it is associated with a poor prognosis and has an aggressive metastatic behavior. Among the types of cell culture, the continuous cell line is a culture characterized by cells that have a high rate of proliferation and that have not lost their original characteristics, and can be maintained in culture for a long period. This technique can facilitate the study of the disease's dynamics and allows the discovery of new therapeutic targets. In this work, we seek to fit a mathematical model of ordinary differential equations in to experimental data from two breast cancer cell lines, MCF-7 and MDAMB231, both under chemotherapy treatment with paclitaxel. The estimation process was done using the Levenberg Marquadt method through the tool lsqnonlin in MATLAB. It was possible to estimate the growth rate and the treatment rate of the cancer cells. Subsequently, we intend to use these estimated parameters to simulate different types of treatment protocols.
